Résumé fourni par la source

With Industrial revolution 4.0 cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality, big data, cloud computing, analytics, simulation, the internet of things (IoT), 3D printing have gained popularity mainly in the manufacturing industries. While progressing exponentially the biggest challenge is the skill shortages, technology issues, the education system, infrastructure, curriculum, and approach to teaching to reap the benefits of this new technological development. This research explores the alignment of curricula with the changing needs of Industry 4.0, highlighting the readiness of future workforce. The study identifies 4 factors viz., teaching staff quality, curriculum quality, course material quality, and teaching pedagogy that have high impact on acquiring Industry 4.0 knowledge. The survey was carried out with 335 respondents as stakeholders-teachers, students, universities, and professionals from industry from Pune, Maharashtra, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The collaboration among universities, industries, and alumni can help in incorporating relevant and practical learning processes, active learning strategies, training frameworks with the requirements of the industry and interactive teaching practices. Finally, the research highlights the need to incorporate innovative pedagogical practices and well-designed course materials to close the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry applications. Through the development of industry-academia collaborations and faculty development, universities can prepare graduates with the required competencies to succeed in the fast-changing technology environment.
