Processed DSMC simulation data for "Finite-Footprint Lateral Leakage Constrains Acoustic-Wave Heating at Mars' Exobase

This dataset contains the processed macroscopic output fields from six two-dimensional spherical Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) simulations of acoustic-wave propagation in Mars' upper atmosphere, as described in: Pérez-Chávez, J. A., Tucker, O. J., Carberry Mogan, S. R., Johnson, R. E., & Blaszczak-Boxe, C. (2026). Finite-Footprint Lateral Leakage Constrains Acoustic-Wave Heating at Mars' Exobase: 2D Spherical DSMC Simulations. Journal of Geophysical Research: Planets (submitted). The dataset includes time-resolved number density and kinetic temperature fields for simulations S1-S6 (128-1024 azimuthal cells), along with simulation metadata and pre-computed reference profiles for 1D spherical comparisons. The analysis code used to process these data and generate manuscript figures is archived separately at Zenodo (10.5281/zenodo.18667659) and developed at GitHub: https://github.com/AstroJosePC/2d-dsmc-wave-analysis
