This archive contains all files necessary for the creation of figures, tables and conduct all statistical analyses associated with the manuscript: Seitz, J. et al. A general physiologically driven representation of leaf turnover in grasslands in the QUINCY land surface model (revision: 974a6b7f). DOI: https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2025-5731. The file phenocam_three_sites.csv holds the PhenoCam GCC data for the three sites US-Tol, CGE000 and ES-LMa. The data was obtained using the R package phenocamapi (Seyednasrollah 2018, site names: NEON.D18.TOOL.DP1.00033, gumpenstein, eslm1). The R script load_three_sites_from_pheno.R serves to download the data and create the csv file. The same code to load PhenoCam data for each site is also embedded in the script Figure 3 and Table 4.R at the appropriate places. The PhenoCam data can also be found at: https://doi.org/10.3334/ORNLDAAC/2389 (Zimmerman et al. 2025). Furthermore, this archive holds modified QUINCY code (revision: 974a6b7f) in mo_q_veg_turnover.f90, specifically the dynamic turnover representation in grasslands. The full QUINCY model code is available under GPL v3 license online via https://doi.org/10.17871/quincy-model-2019, but access is limited to registered users. Alternatively, the QUINCY model is also integrated into the ICON-Land model as the biogeochemical land component, so that QUINCY code is also fully publicly available via the ICON-Land Zenodo archive by de Vrese, P. (2025). The ICON-Land and therefore also QUINCY code is held in the ICON_LAND_TREX.tar file in this archive. Finally, the latest ICON release can be found in the publication by Müller, WA et al. (2025).
