Code for simulations in: Interactions between phylogenetic trees and fossils in divergence time estimation. character_evolution_effect.R does the simulation for the character evolution effect. Parameters to be adjusted as desired constant_rates_extinct_lineage_effect.R does the extinct lineage effect with constant rates mass_extinction_extinct_lineage_effect.R does the mass extinct lineage effect with mass extinction angio_empirical and solanaceae empirical have the input files for the two empirical analyses that were undertaken
