The relentless pursuit of efficiency and competitiveness in the globalized business landscape has driven the adoption of integrated management technologies, which have become indispensable for companies facing constant transformations in the corporate environment. In this context, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems emerge as strategic tools capable of promoting data unification and process optimization across different organizational areas. This article investigates the fundamental dichotomy surrounding ERP systems: on the one hand, the transformative benefits they offer organizations and, on the other, the complex challenges inherent in their implementation. The bibliographical research explores how these platforms centralize operations, improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and foster innovation. It also analyzes obstacles that can compromise successful implementation, such as high costs, the need for detailed planning, team training, and cultural resistance to change. The conclusion is that success in adopting an ERP system lies not solely in the technology itself, but in the company’s ability to conduct implementation as a process of profound and continuous organizational transformation.
