Résumé fourni par la source

Neurotransmitters play a crucial role in regulating the central nervous system (CNS) and preserving homeostasis and appropriate neuronal function. This chapter sheds light on the problems caused by bacterial, fungal, and viral pathogens as it examines the complex link between neurotransmitters and CNS diseases. The authors explore the complex processes by which these diseases modify the production, release, and reception of neurotransmitters, highlighting the significant consequences for the general health of the nervous system. This chapter also looks into non-pharmacological methods as workable ways to change neurotransmitter levels in CNS diseases. The knowledge offered here serves as a basis for upcoming investigations and the treatment plans are meant to maintain brain function even in the face of infections and other challenges.
