According to the 2023 UNICEF report, 2.3 million babies died within the first month after birth worldwide. Despite significant progress in reducing under-five child mortality, much more remains to be done to address newborn mortality to achieve global targets. mHealth has been demonstrated to be effective in changing maternal behaviour. Combining mHealth with ENBC is expected to further improve health outcomes. This scoping review aims to explore the range and types of evidence regarding the effectiveness of integrating mobile health (mHealth) interventions and essential newborn care (ENBC) on key newborn health outcomes within the first six months of life. Methods: The review will adhere to the principles of systematic reviews and be reported using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Several electronic databases, including CINAHL, the Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Scopus, will be utilised. Additionally, grey literature from Google Scholar will be included. The review will consider only full-text studies in English and will be independently screened by at least two authors.
