Rewiring nerve health: the effects of neurodynamic mobilization on lumbar radiculopathy - a narrative review
Le résumé fourni par la source
Lumbar radiculopathy is an incapacitating condition affecting middle-aged men and women alike. It causes pathological changes in nerve physiology, leading to varied levels of sensory and motor symptoms. These patho mechanical alterations can be appreciated by changes in the nerve conduction studies of peripheral nerves. This review explores in detail the pathology of lumbar radiculopathy, the physiology and efficacy of neurodynamic mobilizations in lumbar radiculopathy patients, and the alterations observed in nerve conduction studies of lumbar radiculopathy patients. A narrative review was conducted to assess neurodynamic mobilizations as a technique that improves neural mechanics and restores nerve function in lumbar radiculopathy patients. Neurodynamic mobilization was identified as the only technique capable of improving neural mechanics and thereby restoring nerve function. Observations of lumbar radiculopathy patients showed changes in nerve conduction studies consistent with improved physiological outcomes. Neurodynamic mobilization is an effective intervention for lumbar radiculopathy, offering improvements in neural mechanics and nerve conduction parameters.
