Engineering technicians (ET) maintain equipment and ensure smooth operations across various facilities.Their responsibilities go beyond setting up and installing new equipment.They often work alongside engineers and technologists in research and product development, contributing significantly to the company's success.This paper provides information from the view of industry.To sustain manufacturing activities and ensure continuous production, we need to understand the roles and skills of Operational Technology (OT) technicians, particularly in supporting workplace cybersecurity.While Information Technologists (IT) handle internet access and connectivity across space, they do not typically connect nor understand the OT technology in these environments.The IT/OT interface in Industry 4.0 includes cybersecurity, protecting electronic data from criminal, unauthorized, or malicious use, and implementing measures to address the various attack vectors.This paper examines strategies for preparing manufacturing facilities to achieve "brilliant manufacturing," characterized by adopting advanced technologies, methodologies, and practices to optimize production processes, enhance quality, increase efficiency, and ensure sustainability.[2] A brilliant manufacturing facility will utilize IoT devices for precise, temporally consistent Session ETD 455
