Le résumé fourni par la source
Monitoring the phenological stages of crops is essential for yield forecasting and informed agronomic interventions, yet it remains constrained due to reliance on manual observations or simple vegetation indices, which often vary with illumination and atmospheric conditions. This study presents a semi-supervised contrastive representation learning framework to classify Sunflower growth stages using high-resolution RGB orthomosaics generated from UAV imagery over 110 field plots at 10 distinct timestamps. The approach combines SimCLR-based self-supervised pretraining with supervised contrastive loss (SupCon) for fine-tuning, enabling intra-stage invariance and maximizing inter-stage separation using limited labeled samples. A linear classifier trained on these embeddings achieves 90.22% accuracy on training data, 94.24% on validation, and 95.15% on test data; comparable to fully supervised deep networks such as ResNet and ViT, which require significantly more labeled data. The proposed method provides an annotation-efficient solution and reveals well-defined stage-wise embeddings, even in cases where adjacent phenological classes are not highly distinct.
