Agent-based modeling of the energy consumption of households in urban area: application to the city of Ouagadougou

The objective of this study is to simulate the electricity needs and electricity consumption of households in an urban environment, specifically the city of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. With the increase in population, the energy needs of households have increased considerably, creating challenges for energy supply to households. The general approach of this study is based on the agent-based model. It takes into account individual electricity consumption strategies, considering the socio-economic characteristics of the population. Following a literature review, a conceptual model has been proposed, and the simulation model has been implemented.
