The purpose of the research was to evaluate the feeding habits, in order to classify the BMI and analyze the type of food ingested by the gym goers. The study was performed with 50 gym goers of both sexes in the age group of 20 to 30 years, which worked out for more than 6 months. A questionnaire was applied containing a nutritive anamnesis, being that the obtained results were that 20% were feminine and 80% were masculine, and analyzing the BMI, 44% eutrophic, 40% overweight and 16% level I obesity, keeping in mind that this value may have been influenced by the bodily mass index. The diet group that had the greatest percentage of acceptance (1 –3 times/day) was the cereals, which should be above the 4 times/day. Among the interviewed, 84% use or have already used supplements, and the most utilized supplements by them were malt dextrin, albumin, whey protein, creatine and BCAA. We conclude that after evaluating the feeding habits of gym goers, we observe that the daily consumption of the diet groups were consumed up to 3 times a day. After evaluating these habits it was possible to observe that a high consumption on supplements occur among the practitioners of physical activity. Therefore, to us it seems necessary the implementation of nutrition education programs, with the support of a nutritionist, acting with further professionals in the gyms or places where physical exercises are practiced for the appropriate guidance of feeding and nutrition.
