Abstract Aim To evaluate the multidimensional impact of Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) on practising surgeons across specialties and global regions, focusing on physical and mental well-being, career development, team dynamics, and perceived outcomes. Method A cross-sectional online survey was distributed between December 2024 and January 2025 to surgeons experienced in RAS. The questionnaire assessed six domains: demographics, physical and mental health, work-life balance, patient outcomes, career development, and team dynamics. Responses were analysed using descriptive statistics to identify trends and perceptions across specialties and geographic regions. Results A total of 101 responses were included (after exclusions), primarily from general surgeons. Most surgeons had less than five years’ experience with RAS, and 42.9% performed under 10 robotic cases annually. 77.5% reported reduced physical strain, 53.2% reported positive mental health impacts, and 84.3% noted improved job satisfaction. Perceived improvements in surgical precision (91.8%), patient recovery (79.4%), and complication rates (70.1%) were widely reported. While 75.3% felt RAS enhanced career prospects, only 53.1% were satisfied with training access. Team support was rated positively by 67.7%, though hospital workflow integration drew mixed reviews. Key challenges included training access, robot availability, and procedural efficiency. Conclusions RAS is perceived to enhance surgeon well-being, job satisfaction, and surgical outcomes, though disparities in training, platform access, and workflow remain. These findings highlight areas for strategic development in RAS training and support structures globally.
