Figure 2 shows that 6-TGN levels differ depending on TPMT genotype. Patients with low TPMT activity exhibit significantly higher 6-TGN accumulation, while those with high TPMT activity show lower levels. WBC counts declined rapidly during the first 4-6 weeks but stabilised in subsequent weeks. ANC values mostly remained within the target range. Additionally, paediatric patients with smaller body surface area demonstrated higher 6-TGN accumulation. Here, the obtained findings point that the TPMT genotype as well as body surface area both have a critical role in 6-MP effectiveness and the experienced side effects.
