Vaginal foreign body in a 13-year-old: Where symptoms tell their quiet stories

Vaginal foreign bodies in adolescents are uncommon and may present with nonspecific or absent genital symptoms, leading to diagnostic delay. We report a case of a 13-year-old pre-menarchal girl who presented without vaginal complaints, and whose foreign body was identified incidentally during evaluation for lower abdominal pain with on and off fever and vomiting’s. Clinical findings, imaging and minimally invasive removal were performed with full medico-legal documentation considering the patient’s minor status. This case highlights the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion for vaginal foreign body even in the absence of typical symptoms such as discharge, bleeding or malodour,. It further emphasises sensitive communication, safeguarding principles, and careful evaluation in young adolescents.
