Le résumé fourni par la source

This book chapter provides a detailed exploration of the different environments that can lead to corrosion in concrete structures, a significant concern in construction and civil engineering. The chapter delves into marine, industrial, deicing salt, underground, agricultural, and coastal environments, highlighting the unique factors contributing to the corrosion process. It discusses the corrosive impact of elements such as salts, pollutants, and certain chemicals on the deterioration of concrete structures. The chapter also explores underground concrete structures, focusing on the roles of moisture and lack of oxygen in the corrosion process and the current practices and techniques that have been implemented to mitigate corrosion in these environments. Furthermore, some cases of failures resulting from concrete corrosion in various settings and the mitigation strategies were discussed. The information presented in this chapter would be pivotal to construction and civil engineering professionals, researchers, and students interested in concrete corrosion.
