Le résumé fourni par la source

X-ray-induced acoustic computed tomography (XACT) is a novel hybrid imaging modality that uses short X-ray pulses to generate ultrasonic waves, combining the high contrast of X-ray absorption with the high resolution of ultrasound. We explore the feasibility and resolution of$\mathrm{X} / \gamma$-ray-induced acoustic computed tomography using the Very compact Inverse Compton scattering Gamma-ray Source (VIGAS), which provides quasi-monochromatic$<4.8 \text{MeV}$photon pulses of \~{} 10 ps duration. A theoretical model is developed for the acoustic wave generation by a pulsed X-ray, assuming Gaussian temporal and spatial energy deposition. Analytical formulas for the induced pressure and its frequency spectrum are derived, yielding expressions for characteristic frequency content and resolution limits. A simple simulation with a phantom model is built to examine the relationship between acoustic bandwidth and image resolution. The results indicate that the ultrashort 10 ps pulses from VIGAS enables sub-millimeter or even$10 \mu ~\mathrm{m}$spatial resolution in XACT with board acoustic spectrum. And the high photon energy allows a deep penetration and an extension of detectable depth. We discuss how the broad bandwidth improves image sharpness, and the trade-offs involving detector frequency response. In conclusion, VIGAS-driven XACT shows significant potential for deep, high-resolution imaging in medical diagnostics and nondestructive testing, leveraging the source's short pulses and tunable high energy.
