Adding comprehensive geriatric assessment to standard of care in older patients with frailty and hematological cancer: A pilot and feasibility study

In older patients with cancer, frailty is associated with adverse outcomes such as increased toxicity, decreased quality of life, and higher mortality [1,2]. Comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) is the gold standard for the assessment and management of frailty, and among patients with solid tumors, incorporating CGA has improved several outcomes [3]. However, the feasibility of adding CGA to cancer treatment for patients with hematological malignancies remains uncertain, as these patients are often severely affected and require immediate treatment.
