ABSTRACT The inherent hydrophobicity of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes limits their efficacy in textile wastewater treatment by causing low flux and severe membrane fouling. This work addresses this critical issue by developing a PVDF mixed‐matrix membrane incorporating a hydrophilic metal–organic framework, organosilane‐modified MIL‐100(Cr). The membranes were fabricated using the phase inversion method and their surface properties, thermal and dye filtration performance were characterized. The data show that MIL‐100(Cr) can improve the membrane's surface properties, including hydrophilicity and porosity, resulting in an increase in pure water flux. The rejection rates for methylene blue and congo red were 97% and the membrane's antifouling properties, as measured by the Flux Recovery Ratio (FRR), reached 95% for methylene blue (MB) and up to 85% for congo red (CR). Employment of APTES modified MIL‐100(Cr) as a filler is a viable option for enhancing the selectivity and antifouling properties of filtration membranes, thereby expanding their potential applications in water purification.
