Résumé fourni par la source

The PFN-Marx generator, characterized by its compact design that enables simultaneous voltage boosting and pulse forming, has emerged as a focal point of research globally. The pulse modulation characteristics of the PFN play a pivotal role in determining the quasi-square wave pulse output of the PFN-Marx generator. As the demand for more compact devices grows, the inter-stage electromagnetic coupling arising from PFN wave propagation during the superposition process of the PFN-Marx generator influences its quasi-square wave out characteristics. This paper delves into this issue in detail. Initially, the optimal PFN types are selected by design and simulation. The experiments are conducted to investigate the quasi-square wave out characteristics of the PFN under varying impedance conditions and the impact of different arrangement structures on the waveform. On this basis, a 3D model of a typical PFN-Marx generator is established for field-circuit co-simulation and to optimal its wave propagation. Finally, a 5-stage PFN-Marx generator is built for experimental verification. The optimized single-stage PFN outputs a good flat-top waveform with a leading edge of 12 ns and a pulse width of 60 ns on a 3.5Ω load. The 5-stage PFN-Marx generator, under conditions of a charging voltage of 50 kV and a load of 20Ω, outputs a quasi-square wave with a peak value of 120 kV, a pulse width of 60 ns and a leading edge of 15 ns.
