Taxonomic review of genus Pachyderes Guérin-Méneville, 1829 (Coleoptera: Elateridae) from India with a new record

The genus Pachyderes Guérin-Méneville, 1829, is reviewed from India, with a new country record, Pachyderes ferruginosus Platia and Sechi, 2023 from Nambol, Manipur along with redescription of Pachyderes niger Candèze, 1878 and Pachyderes bengalensis Candèze, 1889. Photographs of the habitus, abdominal segments, and male genitalia are provided for all species except Pachyderes spissus Vats and Chauhan, 1993. Additionally, a key to the known species of genus Pachyderes from India and distribution map is included. • The genus Pachyderes Guérin-Méneville, 1829 is reviewed from India. • Pachyderes ferruginosus is first time recorded from India. • The species Pachyderes niger and Pachyderes bengalensisis are redescribed. • An identification key to the known species of genus Pachyderes from India is provided. • Description, photographs of adult habitus, male genitalia and distribution map are included.
