Launched in 2015, Georgia became the first country to implement a nationwide Hepatitis C (HCV) Elimination Strategy, in response to its exceptionally high disease prevalence. This manuscript outlines the key components of the program’s innovative and pioneering implementation over the past decade, including widespread screening, expanded access to treatment, and strategically targeted public health interventions, that have significantly reduced the HCV prevalence in the country. Through a combination of strong political commitment, international partnerships, and data-driven program management, Georgia achieved a rapid scale-up of services with measurable impact. The manuscript offers a compelling example of how targeted national efforts can move toward disease elimination and provides a model for similar global initiatives.
