Le résumé fourni par la source

The International Standard for Education (ISE) of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) mandates World Anti-Doping Code signatories to plan, deliver and evaluate anti-doping education. Yet, Code signatories face challenges to follow this request even though the introduction of the ISE offers support and best practice examples. Developing anti-doping education measures that are accepted and complied to by the targeted stakeholders (e.g. athletes, athlete support personnel, national federations) is often difficult and seldomly evaluated for pre-defined success factors. In terms of developing anti-doping education, there is an ongoing discussion in the literature to rethink the theoretical foundation by changing the perspective from an epidemiological and psychological prevention-oriented one towards one of health promotion and literacy. Anti-doping education should focus on fostering stakeholders’ ability to remain committed to clean sport behaviour and compliant with anti-doping rules despite facing risk factors that increase their susceptibility to doping. However, this might be very context-specific and a one-size-all-approach seems not to be feasible. In addition, anti-doping education needs to be personally relevant to increase commitment and participation. Involving stakeholders within the process of the development (and evaluation) of anti-doping education initiatives can thus be considered crucial with respect to commitment, sustainability, and success. This chapter offers one potential practice example as part of a case study with two International Federations, namely the International Skiing Federation and the International Biathlon Union, outlining a possible route of co-developing and adjusting anti-doping education by applying a variety of methodological approaches. This approach could deliver a promising avenue to bridge the gap between research and practice with the overall aim to fulfil the condition of an evidence-based solid anti-doping education plan.
