Spatiotemporal pattern analysis of urban expansion of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in past 30 years
Résumé fourni par la source
Monitoring of spatiotemporal changes in urban region is important for optimizing urban spatial patterns and promoting regional development. In this study, urban concentrated construction areas of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region are extracted based on the space-borne remote sensing images from 1990 to 2020. The expansion speed, center of gravity migration, and their relationships with population and economic growth of the urban agglomeration are further investigated. The results showed that the overall urban construction expanded slowly before 2000 and rapidly expanded after 2000. From 2005 to 2010, the speed of urban construction expansion reached its peak in the past 30 years. After 2015, the scale and center of gravity of the urban agglomeration become stable. Further, the scale of urban agglomeration is highly positively correlated with both urban population and gross domestic product. Long term and high-precision monitoring of urban construction scale can reflect the development process and characteristics of urban agglomerations, providing necessary supports for the spatial development planning and decision-making of urban agglomerations.
