TRAJETÓRIAS SOCIOECONÔMICAS E EDUCACIONAIS DE EGRESSOS DO ENSINO TÉCNICO CONCOMITANTE

This study analyzes the socioeconomic and educational trajectories of graduates from a municipal school in the ABC Paulista region who attended Technical Education concurrently with Upper Secondary Education. It examines how technical training is associated with initial labor market insertion and educational progression, without assuming a direct causal relationship between variables. Using a quantitative approach and the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) method, two groups of graduates were compared: those who completed technical training and a control group with similar socioeconomic characteristics. The results indicate that, in the early years of their careers, graduates with technical training have an average income approximately 40% higher than their peers without such training, suggesting initial advantages in entering the labor market. The findings are interpreted within the broader context of Technical and Vocational Education in Brazil and recent transformations in Upper Secondary Education, highlighting the need for policies that integrate professional training, educational equity, and institutional monitoring of graduates.
