Artificial neural networks (ANN) offer data-driven solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve decision-making in industrial logistics and supply chains. This chapter examines ANN applications in three key areas: warehouse management, demand forecasting, and supply chain route optimization. In warehouses, ANN supports inventory control, space utilization, and automation. For demand forecasting, it analyzes historical data and market trends to predict fluctuations accurately, minimizing stock-related risks. In route optimization, ANN dynamically adjusts transportation paths using real-time data like traffic and weather. Compared to traditional methods, ANN delivers greater adaptability and predictive accuracy. Despite challenges such as data complexity, ongoing AI advancements are continuously improving ANN’s role in logistics, driving smarter and more efficient operations.
