Goodbye, Out With the Old and in With the New

This is my last Editorial as Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Hypertension, as I will be stepping down from this position as of 31 December 2025 after 10 years and 2 periods in this job, and 23 years as an editor, if you count my previous 13 years as Associate Editor of Hypertension, Journal of the American Heart Association. I will be succeeded by our current Deputy Editor, Paul Muntner PhD, who will take the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal starting 1 January 2026. It has been a privilege and an honor to lead the editorial team of the Journal for the last 10 years, and steer the Journal ensuring that we publish rigorous science that will help improve our resources to treat hypertension, the number one cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, including in lower-income countries, and contribute to change practice in ways that improve outcomes for patients, as well as advance knowledge.
