Nutritional support at the stages of surgical treatment of patients with intestinal fistulas

The review analyzes the data of modern domestic and foreign literature on the issues of nutritional support for patients with intestinal fistulas. Intestinal fistula is a serious and frequent complication of both planned and emergency surgical interventions on the abdominal organs. An unformed small intestinal fistula has no prospects for radical surgical treatment. Correction of nutritional deficiency in patients with «large» losses is crucial for preparing for radical surgical treatment. The aim. To present modern methods for correcting nutritional deficiencies in patients with intestinal fistulas and their possible complications. Materials and methods. The analysis of publications devoted to nutritional support at the stages of treatment of patients with COP using the databases eLibrary, CyberLeninka, PubMed, Web of Science and Google Scholar from 1970 to 2023 was carried out. A total of 2,413 sources were found, and further analysis included 46 publications directly related to the research topic.
