This symposium explores leader-follower relationships in unique methodological ways, all aiming to strengthen the future of leader-follower research. Each presentation addresses critical problems and/or interesting advancements in concepts. The papers directly advance leader-member exchange (LMX) theory and related leadership constructs. At its core, this symposium seeks to shape individual, group, and organizational outcomes by examining relational constructs and their broader implications. By integrating theoretical advancements, robust methodologies, and empirical insights, the presentations collectively provide a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics that reveal the complexity of leadership and followership dynamics.
