3D light field display with enhanced angular resolution based on visual perception-efficient color presentation

Glasses-free three-dimensional (3D) light field display has found significant potential applications based on novel photonic and electronic display devices. However, the limited resolution of existing display panels in traditional 3D light field displays results in inadequate angular resolution. Here, the more suitable information source hardware for 3D light field displays is presented to improve information utilization. Inspired by the color sensitivity variances found in human vision, A color-efficient display panel with increased green sub-pixel proportion to enhance the color expression efficiency. A sub-pixel rendering (SPR) method is presented to achieve high-quality color blending. The released color redundancy information has been used to construct additional viewpoints. The 1.5-fold improvement in angular resolution of the proposed method is demonstrated with a designed 3D light field display based on lithography technology.
