Le résumé fourni par la source
The Ocean Color Instrument (OCI) on NASA’s PACE mission is an imaging radiometer with a spatial resolution of 1 km × 1 km that has been designed with hyperspectral capability, and high dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and precision, to enable acquisition of new and unique science data with daily global coverage. Previous Earth sensing imaging radiometers have been multi-band designs with up to multiple tens of bands at best. In contrast, OCI is truly hyperspectral with a resolution of 5 nm in 1.25 to 2.5 nm steps over the 315-895 nm wavelength range resulting in 282 different wavelengths measured for each ground sample. This enables unique science data products for ocean, land, atmosphere and clouds. This paper presents an overview of the OCI hyperspectral instrument design and how it is critical for achieving the unique science data products for which sample results will be shown.
