Dermatological emergencies: Two cases of facial malignant staphylococcal disease in the dermatology-venereology department of the Donka national hospital (Guinea)

The skin is the first line of defense of the body against environmental aggressions. It can be affected by a wide variety of microorganisms including Staphylococcus aureus. We report two cases. Case n°1: Mr. AT, 42 years old, saw an inflammatory facial cupboard in a context of febrile, following the manipulation of erosion under the right eyelid, the ophthalmological examination was unremarkable. The balance sheet noted a CRP = 150 mg/L, at the NFS a hyperleucocytosis at 27.5 G/l, the scan angiography not performed due to lack of financial means. In total, a malignant staphylococcal of the face Put on antibiotic therapy and Enoxaparin 0.4 mg daily subcutaneously for two weeks followed by a total regression of signs. Case No. 2:: Ms. MD, 66 years old, seen for a swelling of the left hemiface with sudden onset 48 hours after handling a boil in her left cheek. Overall, a malignant staphylococcal disease of the face was retained. The NFS noted hyperleucocytosis at 12 G/L, glycated hemoglobin at 13%, the patient put on amoxicillin clavulanic acid injectable 3 grams per day and Enoxaparin 0.4 mg per day subcutaneously and local care, followed by improvement within ten days. Conclusion: Any erythematous swelling of the face occurring suddenly after manipulation of a facial lesion must evoke malignant staphylococcal disease of the face and be treated early.
