Internet of Health Things (IoHT) is disrupting the healthcare delivery mechanism by closing the gap in healthcare delivery through interoperable wearable health trackers, remote monitoring systems, and smart medical devices. These innovations offer considerable benefits in patient care and operational efficiency. At the same time, however, these innovations are also creating critical vulnerabilities for data security. The following chapter goes in-depth into multidimensional IoHT risks-from device-level weaknesses up to network vulnerabilities and risks of data transmission and storage. It identifies various types of data breaches, including unauthorized accesses, ransomware, and man-in-the-middle attacks, and indicates how they might affect patient privacy, financial stability, and regulatory compliance. Some emergent technologies used in firming IoHT security include blockchain, AI-powered threat detection, and encryption techniques. Apart from this, regulatory frameworks also evolve with emerging threats: for example, HIPAA and GDPR. While the future of IoHT looks very bright, this path to strong data privacy and security requires cooperation among healthcare organizations, developers of technology, and regulators. The chapter has accentuated the point that proactive strategy formulation in security is a dire need in order to instill confidence in the systems of IoHT and assure their benefits without compromising patient safety and data privacy.
