233Chapter 11 Wearable and flexible perovskite solar cells
Résumé fourni par la source
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are emerging as one of the most promising next generation photovoltaic (PV) technologies with significant breakthroughs in efficiency, materials engineering, and structural design. Since its first publication in 2009, with power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 3.8%, PSCs have topped 26% in single junction devices and more than 34% in tandem arrangements, very close to the theoretical Shockley–Queisser limit. This chapter gives a thorough overview of PSC development, device design, fabrication process, and current improvement with a focus on major breakthroughs such as interface engineering, passivation tactics and tandem integration. When compared to other solar technologies such as silicon, CIGS, CdTe, and organic PVs, PSCs have benefits in adjustable bandgaps, flexibility, low-temperature manufacturing and high light absorption. Despite issues like stability and lead toxicity, developing solutions including 2D/3D hybrid structures, roll-to-roll printing and lead-free perovskites are opening the path for scalable and sustainable commercialization. The chapter finishes by examining PSC’s future prospects and possibilities for revolutionizing the global renewable energy environment.
