Le résumé fourni par la source
We present a two-layer optical phased array (OPA) architecture that achieves effective subwavelength emitter pitch to enhance beam steering range and overcome optical crosstalk. By vertically offsetting waveguides across two layers, our design achieves a projected pitch of 0.7 μm while maintaining sufficient physical separation to suppress coupling. Full-wave simulations demonstrate beam steering approaching 100◦ with sidelobe levels better than –17 dB, enabled by passive wavelength tuning. Compared to conventional one-layer OPAs, the proposed design delivers improved sidelobe suppression and a broader steering range without compromising power efficiency or requiring active tuning.
