Communication test and verification of microwave-based passive electronic transformer

Electronic transformers, considered important monitoring and protection sensors in high-voltage power systems, are recognized for their susceptibility to electromagnetic interference. A proposal for an electronic transformer based on microwave wireless energy supply has been put forward. Based on the theory of microwave energy supply, the energy management system, wireless energy supply link, and communication module were designed. A hardware system utilizing a low-power microcontroller and the corresponding host computer software was developed. To verify the accuracy and reliability of the microwave wireless energy supply scheme, an experimental verification platform was established in both the laboratory and an actual application site. Systematic tests were conducted by adjusting the test voltage, output current, and the distance between the output terminal and the electronic mutual inductor. Experimental results demonstrated that the electronic transformer exhibited good precision in both laboratory and field tests, maintained reliability in a 20kV high-voltage environment, ensured interference-free communication within a 5-meter range, and showed potential for engineering applications.
