Accuracy determination of radar altimetry considering error correlation
Le résumé fourni par la source
Accuracy model of radar altimetry considering error correlation is proposed by applying the calculation model of sea surface height (SSH) from radar altimetry and correction calculation model. Firstly, quantities with correlation need to calculate error covariance are investigated based on the calculation model of correction. They are the range measured by altimeter and ionosphere correction, sea state bias (SSB) correction and ionosphere correction, and inverse barometer (IB) correction and dry tropospheric correction. Then the equation of the accuracy of SSH is derivate considering error correlation, on the basis of derivation of error covariance between above pairwise quantities. Taking the Jason-2 mission data as an example, the effect of the accuracy of the range measured by altimeter on the accuracy of SSH is 11.8 times greater, the effect of the accuracy of SSB correction is reduced by 35.97%, the effect of the accuracy of atmospheric pressure is reduced by 43.49%, and the accuracy of SSH is improved by 13.40%, compared with traditional method.
