Best Practices in Public Universities

This chapter examines the implementation of gender equality policies and best practices in public universities in Mexico through a comparative analysis of two case studies: Universidad Veracruzana and Universidad de Guadalajara. The research aims to demonstrate how these institutions have incorporated gender equity into their management strategies, aligning their efforts with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment). Through an analysis of institutional documents, such as protocols, regulations, and strategic plans, the chapter provides an in-depth understanding of how gender equality initiatives are integrated into university management and their impact on reducing gender gaps. The study highlights successful policies, identifies challenges, and suggests strategies that can be adapted and implemented in other higher education institutions.
