Enhancing Road Safety and Compliance: A Reliable Number Plate Recognition System on Raspberry Pi with Integrated Rear-View Camera Analysis

The exact identification of vehicles by number plate detection is vital to maintaining road safety and regulatory compliance in today's transportation administration and law enforcement environment. This effort presents a thorough approach to building a Reliable number plate recognition (RLPR) system using the flexible Raspberry Pi platform. Our tremendous constructive collaboration for real-time monitoring and analysis of vehicle movements is established by the smooth integration of Raspberry Pi with hardware for rear-view cameras. We achieved excellent accuracy and efficiency in number plate recognition from live video feeds by utilizing unique canny edge detection algorithms designed for Raspberry Pi's computational architecture. Moreover, we cover the nuances of smoothly combining Raspberry Pi hardware with rear-view camera hardware, including setup, configuration, and optimization tips.
