Research on the stylization of the eye shape of Quanzhou puppet heads based on the analytic hierarchy process

In order to more effectively protect the inheritance of the Quanzhou puppet head craftsmanship and promote its development in modern life, this study explores the issues of inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage from the perspective of stylization, aiming to provide innovative methods and ideas for the protection and development of the intangible cultural heritage of Quanzhou puppets. Methodology: From a stylized perspective, this study employs a mapping approach, combined with literature analysis, field research, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), to systematically analyze the eye design of Quanzhou puppet heads. By utilizing shape grammar, the eye design factors are extracted, categorized, and organized into a stylized mapping framework. Results: A stylized mapping framework for the eye design of Quanzhou puppet heads was constructed, and a new methodology for the inheritance and protection of Quanzhou puppetry was proposed. Conclusion: Against the backdrop of the preservation and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, the integration of a stylized perspective into the protection and inheritance of Quanzhou puppet heads, combined with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for mapping refinement, not only facilitates the preservation and sustainable development of Quanzhou puppetry but also contributes to the digitalization of intangible cultural heritage. This approach provides a rational research reference for the inheritance and protection of puppet craftsmanship as part of intangible cultural heritage.
