Le résumé fourni par la source
There is a lack of detailed research on pressure thresholds in the auricle and periauricular areas, especially concerning various populations. This study aimed to evaluate the surface pressure sensitivity (SPS) in 320 healthy Chinese adults (aged 20–59) by measuring the Pressure Pain Threshold (PPT) and Pressure Discomfort Threshold (PDT). Standardized testing procedures were used to measure PPT and PDT in participants. The study analyzed age-related trends, bilateral differences, and gender effects on SPS. The findings revealed age-related variations in pressure sensitivity, bilateral differences, and gender influences on SPS, providing valuable data for the development of ear-related wearable devices. This study offers critical insights into SPS characteristics in the Chinese population, contributing to the design of ear-related wearables and enhancing our understanding of pressure sensitivity in this demographic.
