Le résumé fourni par la source
Understanding the ultrafast dynamics that drive coherent light-matter interaction is crucial for advancing next-generation optoelectronics and petahertz devices. In this regime, the optical response is governed by the intricate interplay between virtual and real charge dynamics, which is far from being completely understood. In dielectrics, Coulomb interaction can lead to the formation of excitonic quasiparticles, further complicating the scenario [1], [2]. In this work we used attosecond transient reflection spectroscopy (ATRS) [3] to study the ultrafast response of a LiF monocrystal driven by a few-femtosecond infrared (IR) pulse. We observed a new excitonic resonance deep within the material conduction band which hybridizes with the nearby electron-hole continuum. This allowed us to investigate how excitonic properties are modified by field-driven interactions with the local bulk electronic bands, gaining new insight into the ultrafast response of matter to light.
