Creative practitioners facilitating arts practices for people with intellectual and developmental disability, and cognitive differability: a scoping review

Creative practice is increasing in the disability sector, yet little is known about creative practitioners working in this space. The aim of this scoping review was to answer the question: what is known about creative practitioners facilitating non-therapeutic arts practices for people with lived experience of intellectual and developmental disability, cognitive disability, and neurodivergence? The search for publications was carried out in June 2023, with no date limits set. A total of 291 publications were included in the review. Findings demonstrate that little is known about people who are facilitating and supporting arts practice in this domain of the disability and the arts arena. Further research is required to find out more about this important group of workers and their experiences of facilitating arts practice.
