Le résumé fourni par la source

The objective of this study was to evaluate the production and characterization of briquettes produced with UWW together with Eucalyptus sp. for energy generation. For the characterization and production of the briquettes, the UWW was mixed with Eucalyptus sp. wood in proportions of 25, 50, and 75% (75UWW + 25E, 50UWW + 50E and 25UWW+ 75E, respectively). In addition, briquettes were produced with 100% UWW (100UWW) and 100% eucalyptus (100E). The briquettes were produced at a laboratory scale by applying a constant compaction pressure of 1000 psi at 90 °C for 4 min, followed by cooling for 5 min. The chemical composition (extractives and lignin), moisture, immediate chemistry, calorific value (upper, lower, and useful), energy density, and thermal properties of the biomass were determined. Furthermore, apparent density, volumetric expansion, compaction ratio, water adsorption, and calorimetric properties were determined. A high lignin content (32.38%), lowest moisture (9.28%), high apparent density (1185 kg m−3), and greatest thermal stability were observed in the briquettes produced with 50UWW + 50E, indicating less mass loss during thermal decomposition. The briquettes produced with 25UWW + 75E had low ash content (0.90%), high calorific value (20.05 MJ kg−1), and high energy density (19.86 GJ m−3). All the briquettes produced showed potential for energy production, especially the two mentioned above.
