New synonyms and typifications in Globba (Zingiberaceae)

Morphological studies on type specimens, herbarium specimens, along with in‐detail evaluation of protologues and literature revealed that six recently described species of Globba (G. corniculata, G. janakiae, G. paschimbengalensis, G. polymorpha, G. tyrnaensis and G. yadaviana) are conspecific with pre‐existing taxa. Therefore, these recently described six new names are here reduced to synonyms under various previously described names. Critical notes on the morphology of these taxa are provided to better understand the taxa concerned. Furthermore, lectotypes are designated for the names G. andersonii C.B.Clarke ex Baker and G. hookeri C.B.Clarke ex Baker.
