Objective: To address the loneliness of nearly 80-million Empty Nest Youth in China, this study proposes an optimized solution integrating the KONA model and IoT technology. The approach adopts a "technology-emotion dual-driven" strategy to enhance the home experience of contemporary youth living alone. Method: A four-layer IoT architecture (perception layer, network layer, cognitive layer, execution layer) and dynamic algorithms were constructed. Key demand factors (Emotional interaction SI, Nostalgic elements DSI) were extracted using the KANO model and factor analysis. Two product prototypes were designed: a radio/MP3-inspired desk lamp and a wall lamp. Performance was validated through the NASA-TLX scale and nearly 300 questionnaires. Results: System response latency was reduced, energy consumption decreased by approximately 1/3, Satisfaction with emotional interaction increased significantly. Cognitive load decreased, and emotional interaction satisfaction increased. However, nostalgic elements and durability require further improvement. Optimization strategies based on an importance-satisfaction matrix were proposed to provide home design products with both high efficiency and emotional support for Empty Nest Youth, In order to promote the deep integration of human-computer interaction.
