Field of View and Airworthiness Validation Methods for Hail Impact Windshields on Civil Airplanes
Le résumé fourni par la source
Civilian airliners encountering hailstones in the air is an essential part of the airworthiness and certification process. Early civil airliners landed by opening the side windows after encountering hailstorms. Nowadays, the windshield of civil airliners is more and more popular with non-openable side windows and streamlined design, which adds more challenges to the airworthiness verification of the CCAR 25.773 field of view after hailstorms hit the windshield. This paper proposes a set of airworthiness and validation methods for the field of view of a civil aircraft after a hailstorm impact on the windshield, and uses the hailstorm test laboratory to test the compliance of simulated flight in the man-in-the-loop after a hailstorm impact on the windshield through the residual field of view.
