Le résumé fourni par la source
This paper centers on the significance of using beamforming over Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) at the physical layer level within a Radio Access Network (RAN) for 5G network performance. Using multiple antennas, this research presents a novel approach that employs a framework at the physical layer responsible for strategically determining where to place the antennas, striking a balance between optimal observability and performance. Through the simulation results, it is demonstrated that the proposed Beamforming Radio Access Network (BF-RAN) technique yields substantial enhancements in throughput, packet delivery ratio, and mean delay compared to scenarios where no beamforming over RAN is applied in terms of video streaming and augmented or virtual reality.
