Young surgeons’ real world in Italy: Surveys and considerations

This article, a result of the 41st National Congress of the Italian Hospital Surgeons Association in 2023, presents critical findings on the alignment of surgical training with legal requirements, the authentic experience of trainees, and the personal and professional effects of job satisfaction on surgeons under 45. By analyzing survey data, we aimed to understand the reasons behind the declining number of young general surgeons in Italy.
