Optimizing plasmonic nanocrystals for enhanced fluorescence: new trends in optical sensing technologies
Résumé fourni par la source
The presentation will be dedicated to the group research activity on plasmonic transducers based on ordered metal nanostructure arrays on planar substrates. The study investigates near- and far-field optical properties using numerical modeling and experimental techniques to optimize conditions for amplifying emitted light from molecular monolayers near the metal nanostructure surface. The primary objective is to determine the optimal parameters for localizing intense electromagnetic fields generated by exciting various plasmonic modes in the array, thereby enhancing fluorescent molecule emission intensity and reducing decay times. This study is particularly relevant for biosensing applications. We also explored the transition from cavity-enhanced fluorescence to lasing phenomena, with the ultimate goal of developing plasmon-based lasing devices for chemo-and biosensing applications. The findings contribute to advancing the field of optical sensors and have potential implications for improving detection sensitivity in biosensing technologies.
